Rotary Unions
Duff-Norton rotary unions carry water, steam, hydraulic oil, air, coolant and thermal oil from a stationary supply line into rotating equipment such as drums, rolls, spindles, reels and turntables. Duff-Norton is part of Columbus McKinnon, the same group as Pfaff-silberblau, and the range covers single-flow, dual-flow and multiport designs for working pressures up to 700 bar and speeds up to 5,000 rpm.
Single-Flow · Low Speed
1100 / 1102 / 1700 / 1900
Straight-through rotary unions for slow rotation and oscillation, from 100 bar up to 700 bar.
Features and Benefits:
- Working pressure up to 700 bar (10,150 psi) with the 1900 Series
- Nickel-plated steel or stainless steel construction
- Threaded BSPP connections (NPT on request), ¼″ to 3″ (1102 up to 6″)
- Ball-raceway or thrust-bearing rotation with a composite PTFE/FKM seal
- For hydraulic and water supply on reels, turntables and other slowly rotating equipment
Single-Flow · 90° Outlet

Compact elbow-style rotary unions with a 90° inlet/outlet for tight installations.
Features and Benefits:
- Working pressure up to 350 bar (5,075 psi), up to 5 rpm
- Bushing-supported rotation with two composite seals
- 1200 Series: BSPP connections, ¼″ to 1½″
- 1400 Series: BSP, NPT, BSPP, UNF or metric connections, ¼″ to 2″
- Nickel-plated steel or stainless steel; up to 200 °C (392 °F)
Single-Flow · Medium Speed
600 / 5000 / 9000 / 9000G
Monoflow rotary unions for continuous rotation up to 1,500 rpm, from high-pressure hydraulics to steam and hot water.
Features and Benefits:
- 600 Series: up to 250 bar (3,625 psi) at 1,500 rpm
- 5000 Series: stainless steel with carbon/ceramic or tungsten-carbide seal rings for abrasive media
- 9000 Series: cast iron body with bellows sealing system, sizes up to 5″
- 9000G Series: carbon-graphite bushing for steam and thermal oil up to 315 °C (599 °F)
- BSP, BSPP or NPT connections depending on series

300 / DWPA / 805
High-speed monoflow unions for spindles, rolls and machine tools, up to 5,000 rpm.
Features and Benefits:
- 805 Series: up to 5,000 rpm and 30 bar (435 psi)
- DWPA Series: designed for printing and converting rolls, up to 1,750 rpm
- 300 Series: compact union up to 3,500 rpm, ⅛″, ¼″ and M10 connections
- Ball-bearing supported with carbon-graphite, ceramic or silicon-carbide seal faces
- Aluminum, nickel-plated steel and stainless steel construction
Dual-Flow
5000 / 9000 / 9000G / DWPA / 805
Two passages in one union, bringing supply and return through a single rotary connection, such as cooling water in and out of a roll.
Features and Benefits:
- Medium-speed 5000, 9000 and 9000G Series up to 1,500 rpm, sizes ½″ to 5″
- High-speed DWPA and 805 Series up to 5,000 rpm
- Steam and thermal oil up to 315 °C (599 °F) with the 9000G Series
- Bellows, mechanical seal-ring or composite sealing depending on series

Multiport

Multi-passage rotary unions that keep several media, such as hydraulic oil, air and coolant, separate through one rotating connection.
Features and Benefits:
- Sealed chambers keep each medium from mixing
- MC and HPMC Series: up to 400 bar (5,800 psi), port sizes ⅛″ to 1¼″
- 1600 and 1650 Series: up to 200 bar (2,900 psi) and 1,500 rpm
- Flange connection on the rotor (1650, MC, HPMC); central port on HPMC

Rotary unions engineered for specific jobs: through-shaft mounting, loading arms, high-pressure reels and continuous casting.

- 500 Series: fits over a shaft from 20 to 100 mm, up to 200 bar and 100 rpm
- DNRF Series: flanged swivel joint for loading arms, 2″ to 6″ (PN10/PN16), up to 16 bar
